The Need:

There are a good many people, overlooked or ignored, who could use a little help. Something like a ride to the hospital, or a babysitter for a few hours during a procedure.

There are also a good many people, willing and able to help, but who don’t know the needs of these overlooked or ignored.

There is a communication gap. And we propose to change that.

The Proposal:

To set up a system through which the needs are communicated to those able to lend a hand.

Here is how we see it working:

A social worker at the hospital becomes aware of a need
They will communicate this need to verse40
verse40 Tweets the need
Those in the network follow @verse40 (on Twitter) and have these tweets sent via SMS
The tweet will be in a specific format: type of need, place of need, time of need, i.e. ” ride, central phx, tuesday 3pm”
Anyone available will DM @verse40 for further details
@verse40 will DM the phone number of the social worker to the available help
The social worker is now in direct contact with someone willing and able
